Dick Olango (born Ojuok Dick George Olang'o, March 1978) is an innovative and provocative Kenyan architect based in Tokyo. He first came to Japan in 1998 on a Monbusho scholarship to study architecture first at Gifu National College of Technology later at Tokyo Metropolitan University. After graduation he worked for various architectural firms in Tokyo before founding AOAD in 2006. Dick Olango likes the philosophy of "Sophisticated Pleasures from Simple Means" which creativity with present material and economical resource plays a major role in "architectural assembly". He believes architecture should go back to serve humanity in a novel and insightful manner.
