"Alice Cook House is the first of five phases in the development of Cornell University's residential West Campus. Space within each house is divided so that 80 percent is devoted to students' rooms and the balance to commons areas, including dining facilities. The project -- the first at Cornell to be LEED certified -- incorporates a central lawn for outdoor programs and is designed so that buildings can be serviced from perimeter streets. The buildings are sited to afford the best possible views while encouraging cross-campus circulation. " — Chronicle of Higher Education
