Level of Significance Local

This building lies inside the boundaries of the PostKatrina neighborhood organization: NorthWest Carrollton Civic Association. The neighborhood organization's boundaries are Claiborne-Carrollton-Earhart-Leonidas. In 2006, members of this neighborhood association successfully lobbied the developers of property bounded by Claiborne, S. Carrollton Ave., Nelson & Dante to use the architectural style of the historic building at 8311 Fig as a guide for their new developments. Today the Walgreens and Roberts Grocery Store have similar exterior styles and are considered assets to the historic register neighborhood instead of looking like modern misfits.

The building is currently (Dec 2008) being remodeled and will be the home of Landis Construction.
