The firm was started in mid-2003 with the express intention of bridging the divide that exists between people's perception of their personal spaces & the stark reality of the building coming up in our urban jungles. A human mid is extremely sensitive to the surroundings & this very same surrounding has a very deep impact on this very same human mind. A deep sense of well-being is required for us to function at our best. Our surroundings, the people, the traffic, career objectives etc, has a direct bearing on our sense of well-being. We cannot do anything about traffic but we can create a meaningful interface between you and your surroundings i.e. the house in a qualitative manner that enhances positive energies in terms of form, function, climate control etc. This young firm is totally involved in extending a meaningful interface between your lifestyle & your surroundings. This is achieved by constant reinvention of design philosophy to better understand the human needs. Residence of Mrs. Lakshmi, Padmanabhnagar : http://www.ashwinarchitects.com/project.html : The client required a duplex residence housing 3 bedrooms with an attached study for their daughter’s room. Apart from this, all other amenities such as attached bath, study area, sit-outs, barbecue space, etc., were provided with a servant’s living unit.
Residence of Mr. Madhu, HSR Layout: CONTEMPORARY DESIGN A 5 bedroom accommodation located on a 40 x 60 North facing site. Requirements of the client somehow grow to fit the size of the property in question. Provision for 2 cars is a must.. Juxtaposition of open spaces next to closed areas is a must to provide spatial relief for the inhabitants. A thoroughly contemporary façade consists of simple geometric shapes with colour playing a very important role.
Residence of Mr. Meghnath, Kamalanagar: http://www.ashwinarchitects.com/project_2.html : Background: Mr. Meghnath, with a nuclear family of 4 is in possession of a east facing site of size 30’ x 40’. Due to particular constraints, only 15’ x 40’ is being utilized for construction with the other half containing a temporary shed which maybe integrated with the house on a later date. With the land value being extremely high & Mr. Meghnath’s needs being very simple, it was decided to provide a separate residential unit in each level. Each unit containing a master bed with attached bath, a guest bed, a living room, a kitchenette / dining table & a common bath. One unit being retained by self & the other 2 being let out on rent.
Residence of Mr. Kulkarni, Bangalore: DESIGN APPROACH The approach for the design consisted of eliminating unnecessary walls & reducing circulation space. Even the staircase was designed in such a way that the landing below the stair offered headroom & allowed us to locate the tv, home theatre & other knicks & knacks. The double height living visually enhances the otherwise compact house. A contemporary approach to the design fundamentals is reflected in the façade also which is interpersed with a little stone cladding to tone down the otherwise strong lines of the building.
