Architect vs Design-Build
Design-Build contractors often provide excellent construction services, but most often their design expertise is subservient to other business and construction concerns. In contrast, our experience, training and professional architectural skills are focused to bring you the highest level of planning and architecture. Design quality and your satisfaction are our primary goals.
The Process
At a first meeting, we will discuss our approach to architecture and your needs, vision, and expectations for the project.
Our design process will clarify your aesthetic, functional, and budgetary criteria for the project. We create alternate schematic designs as may be necessary to meet your needs.
While the process is not always linear, it does follow distinct phases:
• Programming and Budgeting
• Schematic Design
• Design Development
• Construction Documents
• Bidding or Negotiating a Construction Contract
• Construction Administration
We review the progress with you at each phase of the work, make revisions as required, and with your approval and confidence, proceed to the next phase.
Working with BLBennArchitects is a surprisingly rewarding experience for our clients. Friendships are often formed and unique architecture almost always created.
