[edit] Benton County Health Building,Kennewick, WA
The 96,000 SF jail expansion includes a five-story building that connects to the existing jail via a sky bridge. The first floor provides jail administration, kitchen, master control room, sally port and booking. The second and third floors, with mezzanines, provide additional jail space for a total of 865 beds. Renovation of the existing jail addressed the Sheriff’s offices. The court expansion is a new two-story, 65,600 SF building. The total complex is 284,000 SF of new and remodled space.
[edit] Benton County Justice Center, Kennewick, WA
The new 45,500 SF building is a two story CMU and steel frame building. It includes provisions for the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program, Immunizations, Environmental Health Services, Administration and Public Classrooms. There is a full instructional kitchen. The building is served by a state of the art computer system. Located on the Benton County Justice Center site, it has an automatic generator backup system to keep the building in operation during power outages or other emergencies. The building was designed to meet future needs by shelling in 6,000 SF of open space.
