- Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Redline Expansion, Greater Boston/Cambridge. Renovation of three of Boston's Red Line Stations will upgrade stations to meet ADA requirements as well as improving the passengers' experience of public transportation. Fields Corner MBTA Station and Shawmut MBTA Station competed: 2009. Ashmont MBTA Station estimated completion: 2011
- Kuwait University College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait. The COEP will be a unique new teaching and research facility for eight engineering departments as well as the Department of Architecture. The COEP will house laboratories, classrooms, auditoria, conference rooms, a central library, food service facilities, lounges, prayer rooms, exhibition space, faculty offices, and an administrative suite. Estimated completion: 2014
- Kuwait University College of Business Administration, Kuwait. The College of Business Administration (CBA) will be a unique new teaching and research facility housing eight major departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Quantitative Methods, Information Systems and Public Administration. The CBA is planned for a total of 4,000 students, both graduate and undergraduate, with separate campuses for both male and female students. Estimated completion: 2014
- Kuwait University College for Women, Kuwait. The College for Women (CFW) will serve 3,000 students on both the male and female campuses. It will house five major departments: Art and Design, Communication Science and Language, Environmental Technology, Family Sciences, and Information Science. Estimated completion: 2014
- Kuwait Ministry of Education Headquarters, Kuwait. This project is an opportunity to introduce in Kuwait an example of a state-of-the-art "workplace of the future." Cambridge Seven is designing a signature facility which will be efficient and employee-centric, featuring dramatic, sun-filled central atria, a 600-seat auditorium, conference rooms, a central library, food service facilities, prayer rooms and function spaces. Estimated completion: 2012
Recently Completed Projects:
- Ames Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts. The historic Ames Building, designed by Boston's Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge and built in 1889, is the second tallest bearing wall building in the United States. The Ames underwent a complete interior renovation to convert the former office building into one of Boston's newest and most beautiful boutique hotels. Normandy Real Estate Partners commissioned Cambridge Seven to perform the historic restoration of the entire building. Morgans Hotel Group will be the operator of the Hotel, and the Rockwell Group designed the interior public space. Completed: 2010
- World Alive Exhibit at Discovery Place, Charlotte, North Carolina. As part of Discovery Place's large-scale renovation, Cambridge Seven has designed a new exhibit called "World Alive" to educate visitors about the biodiversity of our planet. Completed: 2010
- Kuwait University Fintas Marine Science Laboratory, Kuwait. This state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratory is located on the Arabian Gulf, south of Kuwait City. Sited on reclaimed land, the Center is supported by an extensive harbor facility for nine research boats. Completed: 2009
- Education Center exhibits at Heifer Village, Little Rock, Arkansas. The exhibits at the Murphy Keller Education Center provide visitors with information about how health care, infrastructure, education, fair markets and sustainable agriculture affect the world's poor. Completed: 2009
- Commonwealth Museum, Boston, Massachusetts. This permanent exhibit includes state-of-the-art artifact cases for priceless documents such as the 1629 Massachusetts Bay Charter and the U.S. Bill of Rights, as well as hands-on displays and interactive computer exhibits in six galleries. Completed: 2009
- House of Blues, Boston, Massachusetts. Part concert hall, part restaurant and private club, the new House of Blues (HOB), located in the heart of Lansdowne Street's entertainment district and directly across from Fenway Park, provides Boston with a unique club experience for up to 2,400 music fans. Completed: 2009
- West Cambridge Youth Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cambridge Seven designed the new West Cambridge Youth Center to include a new Community Art Center, a Youth Center, VFW and an on-site pre-school facility. Completed: 2009
- CBS Scene, Foxborough, Massachusetts. This unique concept restaurant showcases the vast heritage of the CBS Television Network and provides a unique dining experience that recreates what it feels like to be "behind the scenes" in the CBS studios. Completed: 2008
- The Hall at Patriot Place, Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Hall at Patriot Place, the New England Patriots Hall of Fame and Museum, brings the great moments in the history of the team to life through dynamic exhibits and spatial experiences. Completed: 2008
- Brooklyn Children's Museum, "World Brooklyn" exhibit, Brooklyn, New York. The Brooklyn Children's Museum, the world's first museum created solely for children, commissioned Cambridge Seven to design one of two permanent exhibits in their reconceived space. World Brooklyn explores the cultures of the world through the diversity of Brooklyn's ethnic neighborhoods. Completed: 2008
- Boston Children's Museum, Boston, Massachusetts. This LEED Gold renovation and new addition bring the Museum out onto the city's waterfront boardwalk. Cambridge Seven also developed two new exhibits entitled "The Commons" and "The Science Playground." Completed: 2007
- The Liberty Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts. Redevelopment of the historic Charles Street Jail into a new four star luxury hotel with 304 guest rooms, a conference facility, health club. Completed: 2007
- Massachusetts General Hospital "Healing Garden", Boston, Massachusetts. The Healing Garden, atop the eighth floor roof adjacent to the Cancer Treatment Center in MGH's Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care (also a Cambridge Seven design), allows patients and visitors to enter into a landscaped setting for rest and solace. Completed: 2006
- Lincoln Campus Center, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts. Cambridge Seven is renovating the uppermost floor of this campus center, adding a new food and beverage teaching facility for the University's highly regarded Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Completed: 2006
- Northeastern University Alumni Center, Boston, Massachusetts. This project at Northeastern University provides for a new Alumni Center as well as ample office space for the school's Alumni Relations group and improvements to the lobby area. Completed: 2006
- Landmark Depot Restoration, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Redevelopment of a historic 1874 passenger depot station and warehouse into offices for non-profit organizations, community spaces, and a café. This project was commissioned by the Arcus Foundation. Completed: 2005
- Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. This project represents the first phase of construction in a 10-year master plan for expansion of the MGH campus. The Yawkey Center now enables MGH to better serve its outpatient community, thus relieving pressure on its main inpatient campus facilities. Completed: 2005
- Kuwait National Petroleum Company Headquarters, Kuwait. This new headquarters building serves as a bold new symbol of KNPC's prestige in Kuwait's heritage and economy, and enhances the "gateway" to the city of Ahmadi. The design employs a bold but simple pallet of materials including water, glass, and stone, and the result is a structure which appears to be a floating mirage over a dramatic reflecting lagoon. Interior spaces include lushly planted "hanging gardens," creating an "oasis inside an oasis" effect. Completed: 2004
- Woodward Center, Westfield State College, Westfield, Massachusetts. Cambridge Seven designed this new athletic and academic facility, which provides a consolidated home for staff and activities that were once scattered around the campus. This award-winning design includes a field house with two basketball practice courts, a varsity court, academic offices and classrooms, as well as a competition track and seating for 1,000 spectators. Completed: 2004
- Kanbar Hall, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine. A new academic building for the Department of Psychology at Bowdoin, Kanbar Hall houses the Department's growing teaching and research program and includes classrooms, laboratories, and faculty research rooms. Completed: 2004
