  • Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Redline Expansion, Greater Boston/Cambridge. Renovation of three of Boston’s Red Line Stations will upgrade stations to meet ADA requirements as well as improving the passengers’ experience of public transportation. Fields Corner MBTA Station and Shawmut MBTA Station competed: 2009. Ashmont MBTA Station estimated completion: 2011
  • The W Hotel, Providence, Providence, Massachusetts. Rising 35 stories, The W Hotel, Providence will be the tallest residential building/hotel in Providence. Designed for a sophisticated clientele, the project offers both luxury condominium units and high-end hotel rooms with commanding views of the skyline, canal, Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University. Estimated completion: 2008
  • West Cambridge Youth Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cambridge Seven is designing the renovation of the West Cambridge Youth Center and a new addition, to include a new Community Art Center, a Youth Center, and an on-site pre-school facility. Estimated completion: 2009
  • Kuwait University College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait. The COEP will be a unique new teaching and research facility for eight engineering departments as well as the Department of Architecture. The COEP will house laboratories, classrooms, auditoria, conference rooms, a central library, food service facilities, lounges, prayer rooms, exhibition space, faculty offices, and an administrative suite. Estimated completion: 2014
  • Kuwait University Fintas Marine Science Laboratory, Kuwait. Currently under construction, this state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratory is located on the Arabian Gulf, south of Kuwait City. Sited on reclaimed land, the Center is supported by an extensive harbor facility for nine research boats. Estimated completion: 2008
  • Kuwait Ministry of Education Headquarters, Kuwait. This project is an opportunity to introduce in Kuwait an example of a state-of-the-art “workplace of the future.” Cambridge Seven is designing a signature facility which will be efficient and employee-centric, featuring dramatic, sun-filled central atria, a 600-seat auditorium, conference rooms, a central library, food service facilities, prayer rooms and function spaces. Estimated completion: 2012

Recently Completed Projects:

  • Commonwealth Museum, Boston, Massachusetts. This permanent exhibit includes state-of-the-art artifact cases for priceless documents such as the 1629 Massachusetts Bay Charter and the U.S. Bill of Rights, as well as hands-on displays and interactive computer exhibits in six galleries. Completed: 2009
  • Brooklyn Children’s Museum, “World Brooklyn” exhibit, Brooklyn, New York. The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, the world’s first museum created solely for children, is in the process of doubling in size. The Museum has commissioned Cambridge Seven to design one of two permanent exhibits in this reconceived space. The exhibit is entitled “World Brooklyn” and explores the cultures of the world via the diversity of Brooklyn’s ethnic neighborhoods. Completed: 2008
  • Boston Children’s Museum, Boston, Massachusetts. Renovation and a new addition will bring the Museum out onto the city’s waterfront boardwalk. Cambridge Seven is also developing two new exhibits entitled “The Plaza” and “The Science Playground.” Completed: 2007
  • The Liberty Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts. Redevelopment of the historic Charles Street Jail into a new four star luxury hotel with 304 guest rooms, a conference facility, health club. Completed: 2007
  • Massachusetts General Hospital “Healing Garden”, Boston, Massachusetts. The Healing Garden, atop the eighth floor roof adjacent to the Cancer Treatment Center in MGH's Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care (also a Cambridge Seven design), allows patients and visitors to enter into a landscaped setting for rest and solace. Completed: 2006
  • Landmark Depot Restoration, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Redevelopment of a historic 1874 passenger depot station and warehouse into offices for non-profit organizations, community spaces, and a café. This project was commissioned by the Arcus Foundation. Completed: 2005
  • Kuwait National Petroleum Company Headquarters, Kuwait. This new headquarters building serves as a bold new symbol of KNPC’s prestige in Kuwait’s heritage and economy, and enhances the “gateway” to the city of Ahmadi. The design employs a bold but simple pallet of materials including water, glass, and stone, and the result is a structure which appears to be a floating mirage over a dramatic reflecting lagoon. Interior spaces include lushly planted “hanging gardens,” creating an “oasis inside an oasis” effect. Completed: 2004
  • Woodward Center, Westfield State College, Westfield, Massachusetts. Cambridge Seven designed this new athletic and academic facility, which provides a consolidated home for staff and activities that were once scattered around the campus. This award-winning design includes a field house with two basketball practice courts, a varsity court, academic offices and classrooms, as well as a competition track and seating for 1,000 spectators. Completed: 2004
  • Kanbar Hall, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine. A new academic building for the Department of Psychology at Bowdoin, Kanbar Hall houses the Department’s growing teaching and research program and includes classrooms, laboratories, and faculty research rooms. Completed: 2004
