"A light-filled building shoehorned into a long site that is narrow at one end and wide at the other, this three-level facility is organized around a curving, street-like atrium. A skylight tracks the atrium's curves to illuminate the two upper levels, while light floods into the bottom floor because the site was excavated to allow windows in what otherwise would have been a basement. The facility houses lounges, study areas, a cafe, a multipurpose room, offices, and a bookstore (<A HREF="/weekly/v50/i29/29b01401.htm">The Chronicle, March 26, 2004</A>).
