"Comprising two two-story rectangular buildings connected by an atrium, this genomics lab is intended to bring together researchers from a variety of disciplines. Within the buildings, modular lab fixtures can be easily rearranged. Thirty-one giant movable louvers track the sun's position to regulate the light entering the atrium, which houses both a coffee shop and a Frank Gehry sculpture sheltering a space for informal meetings.
