A new office building designed to achieve net zero energy use and LEED Platinum severs as a catalyst for broader organizational sustainability initiatives. Energy use is reduced by 65% thigh integrated building design and aggressive reductions in plug loads. Photovoltaic panels offset all energy used. Two slender daylit office wings flank a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Rainwater is collected for toilet flushing and irrigation, and stormwater is retained on-site. Inside, meeting rooms are outfitted for remote collaboration, promising dramatic reductions in travel-related carbon emissions. A transportation demand management plan helped eliminate the need for an underground parking garage, further reducing their organizational carbon footprint.
