The atelier Explicit Architecture, consisting of Lukas Goebl, Oliver Ulrich and Boris Steiner, was founded in June 2007.

The 7 Foundations of Explicit Architecture

1. We are realists, we design utopias. Our architecture emerges from the friction energy between vision and reality. Explicit Architecture means floating in space with both feet standing on the ground.

2. As dreamers we are service providers. All humans are dreamers, but most of them are … read morenot living their own dream. Explicit Architecture draws dreams – for themselves and for others.

3. We have no fear. Where fear ends, freedom begins. Explicit Architecture dispossesses constraints and unleashes spaces.

4. We love eroticism. Architecture is attractive, buildings are alluring. Explicit Architecture is the liaison with the unknown.

5 We don’t care for tastes. The knowledge of the effect of things stands above the mere assumption. Explicit Architecture doesn’t have a taste, not even a bad one.

6. We mark territories. Nothing is borderless, without borders nothing exists. Explicit Architecture sets fragrances instead of boundary stones.

7. We don’t have a style. Each idea needs its shape to be effective. Explicit Architecture has as many shapes as ideas.
