Fergus Garber Group is a full-service architectural firm specializing in custom residential design for clients who are looking for a higher level of attention and management. Our projects include small additions and renovations, gut-renovations, restorations, and new and second homes.

We strive to create homes that both we and our clients can be proud of. The varied architectural styles of our projects reflect our goal to embrace our clients’ needs and desires. Our clients value our ability to understand their needs and balance those needs with the essential qualities of good architecture: strong plans, good proportions, and attention to detail. Each home represents a finely tuned balance of function and beauty. In addition to providing great home design, we decrease client’s construction risk by providing our clients with a detailed and coordinated set of construction drawings. We are well known for the collegial relationships that we have and develop with the contractors and other consultants that compose the design team. The result of this and our design documentation is construction projects that run smoother and more efficiently.
A word about our commitment to sustainable and green design.
For us, sustainability starts with the planning and programming of the project for a specific client long before the project's materials, systems and construction methods are defined. Our homes are carefully designed to support their occupants for a substantial portion of their lives. Many of our clients do not expect to leave the primary home they have designed with us in their lifetimes. In the 21 years we have been practicing, none of the homes we have designed have been sold to a second buyer and only two have had minor additions. None have been renovated or substantially modified.
True to our commitment to serve the interests of our clients, we believe that the use of sustainable and green materials, systems and construction methods can and should be applied to all styles of architectural design. They can be celebrated as unique contributions to a project’s architectural design, as well as be integrated into projects that have a distinct architectural character. It is essential to us is that each project's sustainable and green design approach answer our client’s goals, objectives and values.
For FGG to provide valued advice to our clients on how to apply green and sustainable practices to their projects, we believe it is imperative that FGG stays abreast of the continual development of green technologies. Among the ways we continue our commitment to green is by providing opportunities to our FGG team for continual education and certification in sustainable practices.
