[edit] Discussion
The site, a 6 acre parcel of rolling land in South Salem NY, is at an elevation of more than 600 feet and presents partially open views to the west. The area is characterized by antique farmhouses dating to the 18th century.
The residence was envisioned as a compound of buildings including a main living structure in an open, barn-like configuration, a detached garage and studio, a playhouse and poolhouse, all set in a rolling meadow. The kitchen-family spaces are soaring two-story glassed spaces with french doors to a stone terrace. The living room is a lofty open-beamed space with a large stone hearth and views to the pool and pool house.
