The plan for this facility has been developed in response to a highly dynamic work environment. Projects are often interdisciplinary with team members coming from Sales, Engineering, Technical Support, Manufacturing departments. Most seating assignments are temporary to enable project teams to form, reconfigure and reform multiple times over the course of a project or from project to project. All network data and telephone communications are wireless. A variety of work spaces composed of some fixed and some movable work surfaces enable workgroups ranging from two to many members. Work support stations that include printing/ copying, binding and material assembly spaces are located throughout the work environment for convenience.
Causal seating areas, trees growing in the ground inside the building (under skylight sections of the otherwise translucent roof) individual workstation climate control (through operable registers from the under floor air distribution system) operable windows and primarily task lighting solutions, make the work environment highly adaptable to the individual, rather than the other way around.
Core elements such as utility rooms and a large presentation room are concentrated in the circular building anchoring the southeast corner of the facility, near the main entrance.
