Gerding Edlen was instrumental in the development of Portland, Oregon's highly-regarded Pearl District, and can be credited with substantial contributions to the contemporary character of Portland as an exemplary medium-sized regional city. The firm grew to be Oregon's largest developer.
Bob Gerding died in August, 2009 at age 71.
