H2L2 was founded in 1907 as the practice of master architect Paul Phillipe Cret. His successors Harbeson, Hough, Livingston, and Larson continued the practice under their own names until 1976, when the firm's informal name "H2L2" became official. Several generations of partners since have guided the firm.
