The original Harmon Library was the Phoenix Public Library's first branch facility. A new 12,500-square-foot facility was funded by a 2006 bond, and was designed by the architecture firm richärd + bauer. The 1950 building was apparently demolished in late 2009 after the opening of the adjacent, replacement facility. A landscape installation called "River of Trees" and designed by artist Stacy Levy is now located on the site of the former library.
