Heather Hoeksema has worked on some of the most internationally significant architecture projects within the past two decades, including the Ewing B. Kaufmann Foundation and Chicago's Music and Dance Theatre in Millennium Park, Chicago. Her studio, HHEAL (Heather Hoeksema/ Environmental Arts Lab) focuses on shaping architecture that responds to nature, at both the human scale and the scale of the habitable environment. Through her personal practice she develops concepts for commercial and residential projects, integrating art and architecture, making environments for which both individual and collective interaction exist, symbiotically and in harmony.
