"In 2003, Northern Plains Resource Council and the Western Organization of Resource Councils outgrew their rented space on Montana Avenue in Billings. The two groups teamed together to buy and design a building that would reflect their values of energy conservation and community involvement. They bought a vacant grocery store on Billings' underdeveloped south side and set about constructing the greenest commercial building in Montana and one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the nation."—Green Home On The Range
