"Designed for the university's information-technology offices and programs, this building -- known as the ICTC -- houses the Schools of Informatics, Journalism, and Music, the Pervasive Technology Labs, and Information Technology Services. It also accommodates a secure network-operations center that manages the Internet2 network, among others. The building has 33 classrooms, two auditoriums, and a Student Technology Center that is open around the clock. The architects drew on the original campus design created by Edward Larabee Barnes in 1976, but attempted to establish both a more humane scale and an updated design language that can be used in other campus projects.
