"Interface set a vision at the project inception for the Atlanta Showroom to incorporate the highest level of environmental strategies and technologies. The Interface Showroom received the first Platinum rating (the highest level awarded) through the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED(r) for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) Rating System."
"The Showroom is located in midtown Atlanta, with access to public transportation and storage space for bicycles. The project also includes showers and changing areas for bicycle and pedestrian commuters. A low-water-use kitchen faucet, dishwasher, and ice maker and low-flow lavatory fixtures with occupancy sensors reduce water use in the project."
"Daylighting, efficient artificial lighting, and occupancy sensors reduce electricity use for lighting. Energy Star(r) appliances and equipment were used throughout the space. The fundamental building systems were commissioned, ensuring that they operate as intended. Interface has agreed to purchase wind power to offset 100% of the Showroom's energy use for two years."
"Materials were selected for their recycled or rapidly renewable content, local manufacturing, low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and, in the case of wood products, certified status. The project team was able to recycle 85% of all construction waste, by weight. Carbon dioxide monitors ensure adequate ventilation within the Showroom. The project is extensively daylit and provides views to the outside."—USGBC
