As the design architect and architect of record, Flad collaborated with Johnsrud Associates for this new, three-story 155,000 sq ft project. Flad also worked on the design for the renovation of a neighboring 105,000 sq ft existing building. These projects will result in a collaborative, state-of-the-art environment that bolsters working relationships within the Johnson & Johnson organization.
Glass walls and open labs provide transparency and allow occupants to enjoy views outside. Entry and conference towers present glass lanterns to the site and highlight common spaces within. Sustainable design is incorporated in all building systems, resulting in an anticipated 40 percent energy use savings and a 27 percent carbon emission savings.Flad Architects website
In 2010, this project “was awarded LEED Existing Buildings Gold Certification from the USGBC. The tower and atrium complex is the first existing building within the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies to become LEED-Gold certified.” Johnson & Johnson website.
