[edit] Focus
KAUTTER & KELLEY ARCHITECTS is committed to delivering attentive and responsive architectural services. The firm is represented by a diverse portfolio with extensive experience in design for new construction, renovations and additions, interiors, and coordination of consulting cost estimating, structural, mech/elec, civil and geotechnical engineering disciplines.
Incorporated in 1994, the architectural practice is managed by its principals, Michael J. Kautter, AIA, President, Steven G. Kelley, AIA, Vice President and Amy J. Laughlin, Secretary/Treasurer. Each of our principal architects has over 27 years of professional practice experience. Mr. Kautter and Mr. Kelley each have eight years of experience in major urban markets, New York City and Columbus, Ohio, respectively, where complex coordination issues and the demand for a high level of quality control is commonplace. Because of this depth of experience, the firm is often called upon to provide many different professional architectural services for which we are uniquely qualified.
Approximately 40% of our projects are commercial, with 40% encompassing design for institutional, civic, and recreational architecture. The balance of our work-load encompasses varied residential projects and urban design.
K&KA is often involved with historically sensitive projects involving specialized documentation associated with The National Register of Historic Places. The firm has been recognized repeatedly by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for its insightful handling of landmark structures and sites.
Our interior design experience includes the layout, coordination, and purchase of furniture and equipment for private, commercial, and institutional clientele. The firm also promotes sustainable construction practices whenever practicable. K&KA completed its first consciously green building project in 1999.
K&KA has received recognition for excellence within the profession from local construction industry organizations. The firm has also achieved local renown for providing design work with a finesse toward detail and quality construction.
