The W Hotel, Mexico City, Mexico Recipient of the Golden Key Award by the International Hotel-Motel & Restaurant Association and the MAA Best Hospitality Project, the KMD-designed W Mexico City is located at the heart of Mexico City’s trendy Polanco District. Upon entering the 25-story building, guests find themselves in “The Living Room,” an inviting, nontraditional lobby and a multilevel lounge. The hotel’s 237 guest rooms and suites feature maximized natural lighting and spectacular views of the city.

Nadya Park, Nagoya, Japan KMD designed the Nadya Park complex as a catalyst for the downtown rejuvenation in Nagoya, Japan, including a 1 million sq ft tower with high-end retail stores, office space and an international design center with a 300-seat multi-purpose hall and a 700-seat auditorium. The building is comprised of two towers connected by a 50-meter tall atrium. Rather than columns, the atrium relies on spidery steel framing which allows light to flood in from all sides.

Oakland Federal Building, Oakland, California KMD provided full architectural design services and master planning for the Oakland Federal Building. This project has received a presidential design award from President Clinton for urban design excellence. The federal building is one of the most prominently recognized buildings in the Bay Area, serving as a symbol for the federal government and the City of Oakland.

Passy Plaza, Paris, France KMD’s 120,000 SF renovation of this high-end retail center transformed a single tenant space into a multi-tenant arcade, with individualized storefronts for each retailer. The center features two glass rotundas, a two-story aquarium and a food court fashioned after the old Parisian market place. Below-grade parking accommodates approximately 400 cars.

The Wilshire, Los Angeles, California This Premier 27-story high-rise in Westwood Los Angeles provides 97 luxury condominiums on Wilshire Boulevard. A highly visible site, KMD’s design makes extensive use of balconies and enclosed glass conservatories on the lower levels to admit natural light and to take advantage of panoramic views stretching from Century City to Beverly Hills.

Two Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, California Located on a prime site in the Beverly Hills commercial district, KMD designed this 136,000 SF retail complex in the style of European shopping streets. The project consists of 23 two- and three-story buildings, each with a unique façade. A curving pedestrian street gives shoppers a place to leisurely stroll away from the traffic on Wilshire Boulevard.
