Founding partners of B612associates, Li Mei Tsien and Olivier Mathieu are both Graduated Architect and Engineer with high distinction from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), where for the past decade Olivier Mathieu has teach architecture. Olivier Mathieu holds in addition a complementary degree in philosophy from the UCL while Li Mei Tsien who is also councilor of the Belgian Central Architectural Society (SCAB), adjunct secretary of the Belgian Union of Women Architects (UfvaB) and member of the Belgian Chamber of Town planners has studied one year of Master in Urban Planning at the National Taiwan University as a recipient of the Rotary Foundation Grant. She also received a Master Degree in history and Theory from the AA School of Architecture in London. As directors of B612associates, their work has received praises from Belgian and international critics; they have been invited as speakers in many events in Belgium and abroad. Recipient of the 2004 Prize for Contemporary Architecture of the District of Uccle – Brussels, they are also the winner of numerous competitions for public projects and social housings all realized or currently under realization.
