"The new library serves both the university and the East Side community -- a 6,000-square-foot branch of the St. Paul Public Library is located within the academic library. Before this library opened, the East Side was the largest neighborhood in St. Paul without a branch library close by, and Metropolitan State did not have either a library building or on-site library services. The university portion of the library offers 100 computers, a number of group-study rooms, a quiet-study room (in which laptops and cellphones are prohibited), a periodicals area, a lounge, and a math and writing center. An enclosed walkway leads to the university's main building. " — Chronicle of Higher Education
