[edit] HISTORY
Dirk Lohan came to America in the late 1950s to study under and later work with his grandfather, Mies van der Rohe. After Rohe’s death, he and others continued the practice, which over the years became Lohan Associates.
Floyd D. Anderson joined Lohan Assoicates in the late 1970s and became a principal in 1995, in recognition of his ability to lead many aspects of the firm’s management and project portfolio.
Dirk Lohan and Floyd D. Anderson formed Lohan Anderson to create an innovative, interactive and dynamic practice that continues a very proud legacy of celebrated design.

[edit] SUSTAINABILITY
Lohan Anderson’s design professionals have incorporated “green” sustainable design principles in every project they have designed, regardless of a pursuit for LEED certification, because it is the right thing to do! The firm is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council and has an active in-house Sustainable Design Committee that reviews and consults on every project within the office.
Of important note: the FBI Field Office in Chicago, designed by Lohan Anderson, recently received a LEED-EBOM Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The office complex was procured through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for the FBI utilizing a Lease Construction method of Public/Private partnership development. A private development team delivers an office solution on a turn-key basis to the GSA for the tenant agency utilizing program criteria, lease length and costs that were approved by Congress. During the procurement process, LEED Certification was not a requirement. Major design and construction factors that contributed to the LEED-EBOM Platinum Certification included Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, Innovation and Operation.
Calamos Real Estate, LLC has identified the points necessary for LEED-EB Silver Certification for the Calamos Investments Corporate Headquarters.
Additionally, the following projects were designed and will be built to obtain LEED NC certification:
353 North Clark Street Office Tower designed and is registered with the USGBC to obtain LEED-NC Silver Certification
CityGate Centre Phase I. Office building designed and is registered with the USGBC to obtain LEED-NC Silver Certification
Hotel Arista in CityGate Centre designed and is registered with the USGBC to obtain LEED-NC Silver Certification
CityGate Centre Retail designed to obtain LEED-NC Silver Certification
