MJ Neal Associates is a general practice architectural firm, specializing in meeting the needs of clients, friends and communities for over 20 years. With this experience comes a diverse list of project types, clients and services. This list continues to grow, while sustaining excellent client relationships and upholding excellent design standards.
Established in 1986 to provide architectural services throughout Washington, we are currently at eight quality individuals, including two architects and supporting staff working together as a team. Our staff is sufficient to meet the needs of an array of project sizes, yet flexible enough to address the individual needs of each client.
The services of the firm are enhanced by our long standing relationships with carefully selected and qualified consulting firms, each bringing their specialized knowledge to the project team. Together we produce a much stronger project from the aspects of design, practicality and function.
We believe that the success of a project begins with a few key principles: • Understand the industry standards for the building type and use • Develop a full understanding of the specific project concerns beyond the industry standards • Understand the permitting and agency requirements for the project location • Work to develop effective solutions to those concerns
Our broad experience base can provide the foundation to apply those principles to any project. Understanding the specific project concerns, not just industry standards, will produce a truly successful project.

"Project success is measured in a reflection of the owner’s goals and objectives for environment we design. Those goals and objectives are individual and unique to each project. Ranging from simple functional elements, through budget considerations, to the character and emotions of a space; quality design must respond to each. Only when both function and aesthetics are addressed can a project be successful." - Mark Neal, AIA Principal
"Dedicated to functional problem solving while providing the most appropriate beauty possible within an owner’s budget. -Brad Brisbine, Project Architect
