"Community-constructed" means we are creating this site together, with 133,390 pages as of 20 February, 2017, viewed more than 106 million times to date, with more than 12,000 registered user-editors. Archiplanet uses the same easy open source MediaWiki software as the famous Wikipedia. Any registered user can edit or create almost any page at Archiplanet, with helpful support from the Archiplanet staff. Comprehensive change-tracking and community reciprocality back up this open collective-creation approach.

Additions, edits, and other contributions of content to Archiplanet become a natural part of the seamless overall evolving work of shared authorship at Archiplanet. When you add content - text, image, video, or other media - to Archiplanet, you, the original author, retain the copyright to your own original contributions, and no limitation is made to your creator's rights to control other uses under copyright.

By contributing content here, in addition to retaining your creator's rights, you also grant non-exclusive rights to Artifice, Inc. to publish these contributions. This flexibility of wiki participation allows us to blend community and professional contributions seamlessly, to maintain and grow the collection over time, to help share building culture around the world. Additional creator's rights retained for photo contributions are spelled out on the image uploading page.
