This farm belonged to James McMullin born March 26, 1835, died June 25, 1893. He is buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery which is across the street from the house. James McMullin served in the Civil War, 5th Delaware Infantry, Company H. He was married (Dec 27, 1859) to Mary Matilda Boulden. Mary was the daughter of George W. Boulden (1811-1885) and the great granddaughter of Nathan Boulden who took the oath of allegiance at Cooch's Bridge. James' father was William McMullin (1807-1894). Mary and William are also buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery. James was a Delaware State Senator in the early 1890's. The contributor of this information is James' g-g grandson, Albert Guy McMullin.
