The National Photographic Archive is one of three adjacent buildings in Dublin's Temple Bar quarter, designed by the Irish architecture firm O'Donnell + Tuomey. The archive is home to a large collection of glass-plate negatives. The archive building stands at the north end of Meeting House Square, an open-air plaza where the nearby Irish Film Centre hosts film screenings in warmer months. A projection booth is positioned on the south facade of the archive building for this purpose. At the opposite end of the square, a shutter-style shade for a large window in the facade of the national photo gallery serves as the projection screen.
