(HUNTSVILLE-AL – February 23, 2009) NewSouth Architects announces that James Lee Caudle has passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation exam, making him a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). The Green Building Certification Institute issues this prestigious, nationally recognized credential after successful completion of rigorous study and testing.
Mr. Caudle’s success means that he has gained a thorough understanding of green building and the LEED Green Building Rating System. His LEED AP credential enables him to initiate the LEED certification process for building projects.
Buildings that are LEED certified feature lower operating costs, reduce waste sent to landfills, conserve energy and water, reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, and are generally healthier and safer for occupants. These buildings also qualify for tax rebates and additional incentives, and demonstrate an owner’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
