"Flanking Johnson Chapel on Amherst's College Row, North and South Halls are the college's oldest residence halls, dating to the 1820s. This project includes a complete redesign of the interior of each building as well as a historically sensitive restoration of the exterior walls and roofs. The buildings will each house 61 students, predominately in traditional double rooms. Corridors and common spaces are designed to maximize exposure to natural lighting and to facilitate interaction among residents. (South Hall is pictured.) " — Chronicle of Higher Education
