[edit] Discussion

“The health center serves Cummins Engine with a design based on a configuration of open, semi-open, and closed spaces defined by two overlapping geometric grids. Closed, private activities are set around the building’s perimeter in the outer grid, which is finished in black glass. Open, public activities are set within the internal grid, whose edges delineate separate public and staff circulation; these paths are outlined above by skylights. Brightly colored mechanical and structural systems accentuate the building’s various layers. The surrounding landscape can be seen from throughout the center, and at night the building’s transparent walls make the interior clearly visible from the outside.”</p>
