Discussion
Also called the "epicenter", this blocky building is less imposing than its bulk implies, thanks to the widespread use of glass in a diamond-shaped steel structural system. The façade simultaneously reflects the sky and allows views into all floors.
The building blends well with the newer, more trendy retail construction that seems common on Omotesando Avenue. Unfortunately much of the new construction seems out of place for this street. And especially so, when compared with more thoughtful works, such as Tadao Ando's Collezione.
Visting the Prada Building
"The Prada store is two minutes' walk from Omotesando subway station, in Minami-Aoyama (southwest of central Tokyo). Take exit A5 from the subway station, and follow Omotesando Avenue towards the southeast. You will immediately see the Prada store on your right.
"The store is open daily (including Sundays) from 11am to 8pm. For more information and to check opening times please call +81 3 6418 0400." –Galinsky
