Mr. Sovich had worked for several large architectural firms for 15 years and envisioned creating an architectural practice that would provide high quality design and professional service to non-profit organizations, particularly those providing care services to the elderly, children, and physically disadvantages. In 1994 Mr. Sovich established RM Sovich Architecture in the Towson area. Early projects included, The Ruth Keeton House, a group home with adult daycare addressing the needs of people with depression, located in Harper’s Choice Village, and the Children’s Guild of Baltimore, a school and therapeutic group home addressing the needs of children with special education needs in Baltimore.
Mr. Marshall joined Mr. Sovich in 2001 bringing his expertise in space planning, interior architecture and design, and, subsequently, the firm expanded from three to ten employees. By utilizing computer technologies, the firm has been able to design and execute projects as small as a 1,000 square foot house addition to projects as large as and complex as a $28,000,000 senior and assisted living residence.
In 2006 the firm moved to the current location in Brewer’s Hill. Over the past 15 years the firm has designed and completed projects in Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arkansas, Colorado, New Jersey, and California. Mr Sovich has designed more than 150 projects in the course of his career.
