"Richard’s enthusiasm for how the built environment impacts our quality of life is evident in his many contributions and affi liations within the community. He has served as Adjunct Professor at University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts from 1999-2003. Under his leadership as President of the American Institute of Architects/Southwestern Oregon, 2003-04, the Eugene “Downtown Civic Center Vision” was developed through the process of a design charette. Th e resulting recommendations of that process continue to guide civic growth within the Eugene metropolitan area."[1]
