"This interdisciplinary science center houses the environmental-studies, geography, geology, and physics and astronomy departments and programs, and part of the biology department. Forty research labs, 45 offices for faculty members, 13 teaching labs, and seven classrooms are distributed throughout the building to encourage interaction among users. The building also has a 90-seat lecture hall, a 60-seat visualization lab, a museum, and a greenhouse used for both teaching and research.
