[edit] History
Smart Design Studio was founded in 1997 by William John Smart in Sydney, Australia. It rapidly gained a reputation as a multi-disciplinary design studio of excellence as demonstrated by the long list of awards received by the practice. Most of the early projects were small residential alternations and additions projects. More recently the company has moved towards larger scale projects, with a strong focus on interior design as well as architecture. The company’s specialty, in addition to their unique style, is its ability to work with small spaces, maximise integrated storage and create flexible spaces.
