Smuggler-Union Hydroelectric Power Plant,aka: bridal veil falls hydroelectric plant
Designer Bulkeley Wells (manager SU mine and a colorado historical character) , Robert McF Doble was powerplant engineer/Allis chalmers impulse wheel (actually built by escher-wyess in switzerland), bullock alternator 2400 v-600 rpm-60 cycle. in service 1907-1954, rebuilt 1990; in service 1990-present.

Date 1907?? (penstock and bldg foundation started earlier) to 1907 (abandoned 1954, partially burned by drunk fans following grateful dead concert in 1987, restored 1988-2001 by eric jacobson. plant produces green electricity via flows from blue lake. flow is 3.65 cfs, head 1950 feet). building has 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, a large livingroom, library, dining room, etc. main contractor for restoration was steve chidester storm. building on national register of historic places. licensed by FERC as project 6623. NOT OPEN TO PUBLIC
