[edit] Discussion

Stantec was founded as an engineering firm in 1954 and launched its architectural practice in 1998. Stantec Architecture, which now employes more than 800 people, is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a United States base in San Francisco. Stantec grew quickly by acquiring other architecture firms, including Architectura, Chong Partners Architecture, and Murphy Hilgers. Stantec's architectural personnel represent about 10 percent of the company.

In total, Stantec employs 9,000 people operating out of more than 150 locations in North America. Company headquarters is Edmonton, Alberta. Stantec trades on the TSX and NYSE under the symbol STN. —Stantec web site
