"This project is the result of close cooperation with client and nursing staff to produce a bright, contemporary environment designed to improve the wellbeing and state of mind of residents. Two single-storey pavilions set within garden grounds cater for individuals with neurodegenerative illness; these spaces incorporate eighteen bedrooms and twenty-four bedrooms respectively, all en suite, and enable both quiet contemplation and internal and external exercise. In both buildings, the rooms are arranged around garden courtyards with water features, and both take advantage of the views to open countryside. The unit creates comfortable, calming accommodation within a light and welcoming environment." -- RIBA
