"Bowdoin preserved the exterior of the 1928 Curtis Pool building, designed by McKim, Mead and White, while transforming the interior into a 280-seat, state-of-the-art music-performance and practice facility. The renovation created a hall whose acoustics can be adjusted using, among other devices, a series of curtains hidden within 10 mesh-screened pylons rising around the seating area. The renovation also added a lobby, a rehearsal room, a green room, nine music-practice rooms, and space for lockers in which instruments can be stored. " — Chronicle of Higher Education
