"This project, the first phase of a larger effort, renovated four floors of the library's 1924 home, Butler Hall, which was originally designed by Allen and Collens of Boston. New work space for library employees was created on the ground floor, while the first floor now has a cafe that doubles as a reading room and gathering space. Other library services are also concentrated on the first floor, so that the library can remain open around the clock during exams with a minimum number of staff members on duty. The second floor now houses journals, curriculum materials, and children's literature. The main reading room occupies much of the third floor, along with two classrooms and six group-study rooms. Two more floors of the building remain to be renovated. " — Chronicle of Higher Education
