The Teton County Library is a regional library of 25,000 square feet designed to serve as the principal library for Teton County’s extended community. The complex building program includes a small auditorium, circulating and reference collections, a Western Americana collection, a changing exhibits collection, and administrative and technical processing facilities. Sited in a community park, the Library also functions as an outdoor teaching laboratory. The Library’s log and wood construction reflects the indigenous architecture and history of the region, illustrating Will Bruder’s commitment to the design of regionally responsive architecture—buildings that grow out of the spirit of a place. In addition to full architectural services provided on the project, an extensive and distinguished collection of art was curated for the building, including painting, sculpture, photography, and craft pieces. Delivered on time and within budget, the Teton County Library opened with the enthusiastic support of the community, becoming a point of pride for this independent-minded Western town.
