[edit] About

The Reynolds Group V Reynolds spaceplanner / R J Reynolds AIA architect email: rjvr@alumni.upenn.edu In 2006, The Reynolds Group, a husband-wife architectural firm, will celebrate twenty four years of successful practice together. We each have varied career backgrounds, in fine arts, architecture, space planning, interior design, restoration, acoustics, arbitration and mediation, with related legal activities. Projects include public institutions, new and altered residences, medical, banking, office buildings and fitouts, performance theaters and barrier free retrofits. We prefer green design, in harmony with the land, and we create building envelopes from the inside out. As a two person firm, with trusted consultants for all other project requirements, our services begin with careful program analysis, site design with township representation; then spaceplanning, interiors, contract documents, construction administration, garden design and landscapes. Specialties include swimming pools, acoustics, lighting and stage rigging for the performing arts. We work with clients and their builders to establish realistic project budgets and avoid simply fashionable solutions. Instead we develop environments which are comfortable, flexible and stimulating for changing lifestyles, with practical rethinking of how we actually live, as counterparts to our chronic shortages of time and personal space. We subscribe to the Not So Big House philosophy: visual space is often more significant than actual space when horizons are at a premium. We offer technical and design consultation to large and small developers, corporations, public bodies, hospital boards, homeowners and other architects. Our arbitration and legal experience with accident and construction failure analysis insures that we understand and respect the significance of intelligently managed relationships, fine design and skillful construction.
