"This colourful development of fourteen affordable homes is the first social housing in the UK to be accredited by the German Passivhaus Institute, attesting to its rigorous energy standards. While first impressions may be of a simple row of two storey beach huts, it is in fact an ingenious plan and section of interlocking apartments and houses. The first floor apartments are enhanced by roof terraces on the link sections. The construction is of prefabricated super insulated āIā beam roof and walls, finished with render on blockwork. It serves an important social purpose and reflects the grain of the town, while adding a refreshing splash of colour." -- RIBA
