"The conference center is at the heart of the TreePeople's four-acre environmental education campus in Los Angeles' Coldwater Canyon Park. Unique elements of the eco-friendly building include a site position and design that maximize the bright sunlight and prevailing winds of the area. Its designers also use natural principals and the native qualities of the locale to minimize the need for "imported" heating, cooling, energy and water."
"Other green features include a system to capture all rainwater in an underground drainage network, store it in a 216,000-gallon cistern that also is underground, and reuse the harvested rainwater to irrigate landscaping and provide water for firefighting."—Greener Buildings
