Dear James,

Thanks for your interest in Archiplanet. We're glad to have your contributions. But please note that your account has been temporarily suspended while we work to correct some changes you've made to the way that Archiplanet is organized.

We are open to the possibility of rethinking the naming schemes for buildings and firms in the United Kingdom. And I look forward to discussing the matter with you. However, it is not appropriate to make the kind of unilateral changes to pages that you've been making. A system exists and should be followed until and unless a different strategy is officially adopted.

Thanks and best wishes,

Dear James,

There are certainly elements to be cleaned up at Archiplanet. But as it happens, the work you were doing was heading in the opposite direction of the one intended. The current naming policy for most buildings in the UK works like this: "Building Name, City, Country, United Kingdom". Likewise, the "country" field which generally determines the associated Category should also follow the pattern of "Country, United Kingdom". Some older building data may not include ", United Kingdom". And there are some buildings (Great Buildings) whose names should not change.

If you find a UK building with a "country" value that does not include ", United Kingdom", you are welcome to add it. In that way, we can move away from the two ambiguous categories.

Thanks very much again, for your interest in Archiplanet! Dowen 14:36, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
