Vessel Studio, founded by Shawn David Brown in 2002, is a multi-disciplinary architecture and design practice specializing in contemporary, environmentally sensitive design solutions centered around the client and their passion for innovation and creativity. Although focused primarily on custom residential design, Vessel Studio has also completed work in the public, corporate and retail sectors as well. Current and past projects include a 1800sf addition/renovation in Paoli, Pa; several New York City apartment and loft renovations; a New York City Park Case Study; and a new 2400sf residence in Lake Tahoe, Ca.

Shawn David Brown graduated from Virginia Tech in 1997 and Cornell University in 2005. He has worked for numerous prestigious architecture firms in New York and San Francisco where he has led design projects from conception to completion. Most recently, while at SPG Architects, he won the International Bamboo Design competition for Best Single Family Home and his work has been published in countless periodicals and books including Digital Architecture, Interior Design, City Magazine, Trends and Frame. In addition to Vessel Studio, Shawn is also serving as an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University.

Shawn is a registered architect in the state of New York.

Architecture is the vessel within which we view and perceive the built environment.
